Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) > Caregiver Payroll & Administration > What's the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly, and what is recommended?
Bi-weekly is payment of employee wages every two weeks; at the end of a 52-week year, there will have been 26 pay periods.
Semi-monthly is payment of employee wages on the 15th and final day of each month; at the end of a 52-week year, there will have been 24 pay periods.
Simplified HomeCare has worked with clients who have used both methods of payment, and we have found that semi-monthly pay periods using a consistent monthly salary is easiest to manage and administer.
